Help Libertarians Take Back the Libertarian Party of New Hampshire!
The Libertarian Party of New Hampshire (LPNH) was taken over by people who use LPNH assets to spread messages of hate and, occasionally, aggression.
We are a diverse group of libertarians who believe in the value of a principled LP and are trying to take the party back![disclaimer]
However, since non-libertarians are joining the party, and OG libertarians are disassociating, this may be our last chance to save LPNH!
What happened?
What Is Libertarianism?
There are many perspectives on libertarianism, but they boil down to the idea that problems are better solved with voluntary - rather than coercive - solutions. Libertarians also realize that the use of coercive solutions - via taxes, laws, and regulations - is characteristic of government.
The preamble to the platform of the Libertarian Party - which has remained nearly unchanged for 40 years - reads as follows:
As Libertarians, we seek a world of liberty: a world in which all individuals are sovereign over their own lives and are not forced to sacrifice their values for the benefit of others. We believe that respect for individual rights is the essential precondition for a free and prosperous world, that force and fraud must be banished from human relationships, and that only through freedom can peace and prosperity be realized. Consequently, we defend each person’s right to engage in any activity that is peaceful and honest, and welcome the diversity that freedom brings. The world we seek to build is one where individuals are free to follow their own dreams in their own ways, without interference from government or any authoritarian power."
For examples of how we apply this principle to derive our public policies, please see the radical platform of the Libertarian Party of CA as amended in 2021.
LPNH Was Taken Over and Is Spreading Messages of Hate & Aggression
However, some of these tweets are evidence that the current regime was trying to sabotage the LPNH in favor of the NH GOP, or lacks the maturity to run a political party.

Why Save the LPNH?
- Libertarian principles often manifest as public policy. However, most people only think about politics during an election year. Libertarians can use this election circus as a platform to spread the message of liberty. When the two major parties are debating about how to control you, LPNH can present a third, better option.
- Libertarians have spent 50 years building the reputation that we are honest, creative, intelligent, thoughtful, compassionate, and full of integrity. We want to save what’s left of our hard earned reputation, partly so that we can build support for our ideas and policies.
- If you are a Free Stater trying to build “liberty in our lifetime”, then you want to attract libertarians to New Hampshire. Prospective Free Staters expect that the LPNH is representative of the libertarian community in NH. The current messaging suggests we have a toxic community and repels libertarians.
- With the success of the Free State Project, LPNH should have thousands of successful, passionate liberty activists, and candidates that have a real shot. However, as it stands, a smaller percentage of people vote Libertarian in New Hampshire than in Maine, which is a turn off for prospective porcupines.

How Can I Help?
We need your help to make the Libertarian Party of NH libertarian again! Here’s how:
- Pay $25 for an LPNH membership by February 1, 2025. Try not to think of it as showing support for the current regime, but for the past and future LPNH!
- Register for the LPNH Convention.
- Vote for the candidates below at the conference in Manchester on March 8, 2025. Warning: The people that took over are well organized. Their supporters know who to vote for, and their candidates will give moderate sounding speeches to court uninformed delegates.
- Optional: Spread the word to those that want to see a better world.
